You may think it strange that most food you buy in the supermarket has the words ‘May Contain’. In some ways it sounds ‘wishy washy’ as surely the makers of that product know exactly what stuff is in their products!
The answer is that most products are all made on the same factory lines. That means it’s hard to get rid of ingredients when making one different product after another. Take peanuts. They have airborne protein particles so if they are used in a factory every single product made in that factory may then be contaminated with protein from those peanuts.
This may help explain the nightmare people with severe allergic reactions face when eating most foods!
At Freedom Foods we’re more certain about things
Run your eyes over most of our packs and you’ll see that many of our products do not have the words ‘May Contain’ on there.
That’s because lots of our products are made at our dedicated ‘free from’ factory. This means they’re safely free of that bad stuff like wheat, rye, barley, triticale (all sources of gluten), sesame seeds and nuts.
It gives a whole new meaning to clean labeling huh?
